The Corporate Sports Network delivered yet another memorable football outing as teams from various companies clashed in a spirited competition at the Luzira Maroons Grounds on Sunday, March 29.

From the first whistle, the matches were played at a high tempo, with teams showcasing surprising levels of fitness and tactical discipline.

Early fixtures set the tone for the day, with URA edging debutants Old Mutual by a solitary goal, Stanbic Bank trouncing DHL by 4-0  and Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs ( MOVDA) showing they are not a walk over team.  Their quick passing, organized defending, and moments of individual brilliance kept spectators on their feet.

Several teams emerged as early contenders, asserting dominance with confident wins, while others fought hard to find rhythm in a tightly contested field. Among the early contenders are Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), who are yet to lose a game. They lead the log on 23 after 8 games.  They are closely followed by Centenary Bank, Graphic Systems, National Social Security Fund (NSSF) and Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), all tied on 21 points.

One of the standout moments came in a gripping midday encounter that saw MOVDA outclass fellow debutants Rene Industries. With the game tied at 0-0, MOVDA’s goalkeeper launched an attack from his half, and his striker spectacularly hit a blistering header. The crowd erupted.  as late goals flew in, underlining the unpredictable and entertaining nature of the tournament.

Beyond the results, the outing highlighted the growing importance of corporate wellness and team building through sport. Colleagues bonded on and off the pitch, with laughter, encouragement, and friendly banter echoing across the grounds. The sidelines were equally lively, as supporters cheered passionately, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of professional matchdays.

The Corporate Sports Network’s technical team  praised the turnout and competitive spirit displayed, noting that such events continue to strengthen relationships among companies while promoting healthy lifestyles. “It’s more than just football—it’s about connection, teamwork, and creating lasting memories,” one official remarked.

For the record, most games were done by 4:30 Pm, which was a record and team managers gave plaudits to CSN’s technical team for the well-organized outing
