The 2026 season of the Corporate Sports Network did not just kick off with football boots pounding the turf and captains shaking hands—it exploded into life with the electrifying sounds of the Prisons Brass Band, whose commanding performance transformed the opening ceremony into a spectacle of rhythm, pride, and pageantry.
As teams assembled at the Legends grounds, some dressed in freshly pressed kits and corporate colours, the first deep notes of brass cut through the morning air. Trumpets rang out with sharp, triumphant clarity, while trombones rolled in rich harmony. The steady heartbeat of the drums followed—measured, confident, and impossible to ignore. Heads turned instantly. Conversations paused. The season had officially begun.

Clad in their immaculate ceremonial uniforms, the members of the Prisons Brass Band marched with disciplined precision. Every synchronised step reflected order and pride. Their polished instruments shimmered under the sun, flashing gold with every movement. The visual display was as compelling as the music itself—a fusion of tradition, discipline, and celebration.

Their effect was almost instant on the assembled corporate teams; the CSN secretariat and Exco BOD members did a ceremonial march around the field
The band’s repertoire moved effortlessly between patriotic anthems, lively marching tunes, and contemporary crowd favourites like Harmonise and Diamond Platinumz’ Kwangwaru song.

When they burst into an upbeat medley, the atmosphere shifted from formal ceremony to festival mood. Players who had moments earlier worn serious, game-focused expressions now found themselves swaying gently. Spectators clapped in rhythm. Some executives, usually reserved behind corporate composure, tapped their feet openly as the band played during intervals.
With every roll of the snare and boom of the bass drum, the sense of occasion intensified. CSN’s Board Chairman, Mike Kajubi, obviously thrilled by their performance, appeared like he was auditioning for a role in the brass band. He was duly followed by Abdallah Byaruhanga, a jovial and passionate football fan and cheerleader.
Children in attendance danced freely near the sidelines, mimicking the band’s movements. Vendors paused to enjoy the performance. Even referees waiting for the first whistle smiled in appreciation. The music bridged gaps—between competition and friendship, between corporate titles and community spirit. Current EXCO chairman, Mr Kennedy Mpanga, offered five branded CSN T-shirts to the grateful team from the Priusons Brass Band.
When the master of ceremonies invited the chief guest from Case Medical Care to declare the season open, the Prisons Brass Band provided a powerful musical backdrop. A triumphant crescendo rose at the exact moment the kickoff announcement was made, drawing cheers and applause that echoed across the grounds. It was theatrical, perfectly timed, and deeply stirring.
Long after the first ball was kicked and the opening match gathered pace, the echo of brass melodies lingered in the air. The band had done more than entertain; they had set the emotional tone of the entire season—uplifting, disciplined, vibrant, and united.
In a league built on teamwork, healthy competition, and corporate networking, the presence of the Prisons Brass Band reminded everyone that sport is also celebration. Their performance did not merely fill the silence before kickoff—it gave the 2026 Corporate Sports Network season a soundtrack worthy of its ambition.
