With just days to the highly anticipated end of April outing, the feeling is that many participating teams have honed their skills and are itching to compete. This, however, hasn’t been the case with the newly introduced game of darts.

According to the Corporate Sports Network technical team, there has been a slow response towards registration for darts, and this has in a way affected the scheduling of fixtures, with over ten companies yet to confirm their two participants (male and female) for the outing at former Gems Cambridge International School.

“We just need confirmation of the participants’ names from the respective companies so that we can proceed with the draws. We gave managers the opportunity to register the teams during the previous outing, but sadly, some are yet to correspond,” Asadu Semeere, the Corporate Sports Network technical manager, said, adding that in an ideal situation, the fixtures should be out a week before the games.

During the March outing, Corporate Sports Network management offered a chance for the teams to embrace the game of darts before the competition

It was indeed a busy outing, and according to the trainer and seasoned national team darts player, Mr. Patrick Kateregga, there is a huge pool of talent that, if tapped, can even play for the national team.

“Those who came for training loved the game.    They are not only passionate, but some exhibited immense talent and understanding of the game and will go far,” he told this website.

He, however, said that of the 30 teams registered for training, eight never showed up.  This, however, will not stop the organisers from going on with the draws ahead of the next outing.

“We shall go ahead with the draws, which will be announced way before the outing.  It is up to the teams that never trained to do something.   I don’t want a situation where we shall be giving walkovers in this beautiful game,” he said.
