The Corporate Sports Network (CSN) September outing has been confirmed for Sunday, September 27, at the Kampala Rugby Grounds, formerly known as Legends, with participating teams set to battle it out in normal football and the 35+ category.
The monthly outing will bring together corporate teams for a day of sport, competition, and community engagement, with the football contests expected to provide another chapter in what has developed into a closely fought title race.
CSN, together with its partners CASE Hospital, will also host a medical outreach camp during the event. Participants and members of the public will have access to a range of health services, including HIV screening, hepatitis B testing, and random blood sugar testing.
The official fixtures for the September outing are expected to be released on Monday, giving teams their first look at the match-ups ahead of the competition.
URA Among the Teams in Title Contention
On the football front, URA have firmly positioned themselves among the leading contenders for the title. However, after coming agonizingly close last season, the tax body will be looking to turn their strong campaign into a championship-winning finish this time around.
The numbers underline just how competitive the race has become.
URA has collected 58 points from 23 matches, while Centenary Bank has also accumulated 58 points but has played one game fewer. Graphic Systems are just one point behind the leading pair, with 57 points from 23 matches.
The pressure does not end there. DTB Bank are lurking within striking distance, having amassed 50 points from just 21 matches, while traditional corporate football powerhouses Hotel Africana sit fifth with 47 points from 20 games.
The defending champions, Quality Chemicals Industries Limited (QCIL), meanwhile, find themselves in unfamiliar territory. The 2025 champions are currently eighth with 45 points from 20 matches, leaving them with significant ground to make up if they are to successfully defend their crown.
With several teams still having games in hand, the standings remain finely poised, and the upcoming fixtures could prove crucial in shaping the final stages of the title race.
For URA, Centenary Bank, and Graphic Systems, every point will count. For the chasing pack, the September outing presents another opportunity to close the gap.
