The Corporate Sports Network (CSN), an annual corporate sports tournament, kicked off on Sunday, 22 February 2026, at the former Legends Grounds in Lugogo.

The new season, which was kicked off by a march from the teams accompanied by the Prisons brass band, witnessed a fresh wave of hope, ambition and unrelenting action.

From the first whistle, the tempo was electric in the football games contested under chilly conditions. Pre-season promises were tested within minutes as strikers chased early goals and defenders threw themselves into tackles that set the tone for months to come.

Defending football champions, Quality Chemical Industries Limited got off to a near-perfect start. They won three out of their four games and had to rue missed chances in their final game with Vision Group, which ended goalless.

The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority got off to a perfect start, winning all four of their games and conceding no goal.  It was the same story for perennial contenders Graphic Systems, marshalled by former Exco chairman, Simeon Kauma. They won all 4 games and conceded only one goal.

Centenary Bank got off to a solid start

NSSF and Vision Group also started strong. The media team won two and drew two games, while NSSF won three and drew one of their games.  At the bottom of the log, it was an outing to forget for couriers DHL, who lost all 4 of their games with an unenviable goal difference of -11 goals. ABSA Bank and Platinum Credit also had an outing to forget, as they managed only one goal apiece.

Debutants Movit Products Limited, Old Mutual Uganda and NCBA Bank enjoyed mixed fortunes as they managed 1 win apiece.

It was an all-action outing. There were thunderous strikes from outside the box that left goalkeepers frozen. There were tap-ins crafted by inch-perfect crosses and headers that rippled the net and sent fans into wild celebration.

Beyond the goals and statistics lay something deeper — belief. The struggles of last season were erased, replaced by clean slates and renewed determination. Coaches paced their technical areas, shouting instructions, knowing that early momentum can shape the narrative of the months ahead. Will it be QCIL’s season again? It is still too early to tell.
