All is set for the Corporate Sports Network ( CSN) outing of September slated to happen on Sunday, 28 September 2025 at the Maroons Sports Grounds in Luzira.
According to the General Manager Mr. Charles Sempagala, contrary to earlier communication that the outing would be held at the Makerere University Business School ( MUBS) grounds, last minute changes saw a chance in venue. He however reveals that the day’s programmes will not be affected as the Luzira pitch can handle the disciplines.
Mr. Sempagala says that the disciplines to be contested include football ( normal games) plus 35 + games ( Manager’s games) which will be contested in the afternoon. The netball finals will also be contested on Sunday, he revealed.
The fun games, he says will involve 3-legged race ( Where two team members, a male and female wil be bound by one leg and run). There will also be the sack race, where partipants will race individually. ” For woodball, we encourage participants to dress in company branded polo shirts ( ideally) for uniformity and smartness,” he appealed.
CSN’s technical officer Asadu Semeere clarified on the format in which Woodball will be contested. ” We will have a maximum of 4 participants and a minimum of 3 participants but must include a lady among the 4 or 3. We will take the best 3 to another level, but a lady must be in there no matter the points gained,” he said.
He revealed that at the end of the event, singles will be awarded a medal, but as a team, they will viw for a trophy, which will be presented at the Awards dinner in December. Last year, DTB Bank, Hotel Africana, and Vision Group won gold, silver, and bronze, respectively in woodball.
DTB emerged top with 140 strokes, while Hotel Africana was second with 143 strokes. Vision Group buoyed by seasoned woodball player Victoria Nampala Bugembe managed a respectable third with 149 strokes.
