Ahead of the 4th Corporate Sports Network outing there was speculation that volleyball would be on the menu this month.
However, a tentative fixture list released by CSN’s technical team this month indicates that football ( normal and 35 +) plus basketball will be contested at the former GEMS Cambridge facility in Luzira on Sunday, May 25.
In a communication to managers, Nicholas Masembe of CSN’s technical team said for basketball, they expect only the 16 qualifiers to field teams as they are the ones on thes fixture.
Owing to a fixture backlog that led to some games ending late during the previous outing, he revealed that no such incident will suffice.
” We agreed that no games will be postponed beyond April. For that matter, all games involving Red Cross, will be awarded as walk overs to the teams they were supposed to face in February and March,” Masembe said.
He says that going forward, if Red Cross is still a no-show, all teams supposed to meet them will also be awarded walk overs.
To mitigate on cases of late play, especially the 35 + who complained of poor visibly while playing at dusk, Masembe says that these games have now been scheduled to happen between 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm.
