URA 1- SGA Security 0

URA 1- Roofings Group 0

Dummen Orange 0- URA 2

URA 3- Jubilee Life Insurance 0

“Well done, boys. Good progress,” a beaming Moses Kaduyu, the CSN Director of Finance and Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) patron, told his charges after yet another successful outing on Sunday at the Maroons grounds in Luzira.

URA stretched their lead at the top of the football league by 4 points.  On the day, they played with ruthless precision and dispatched opponents with relative ease. The margins were tight as they defeated SGA Security and Roofings Group by a solitary goal.   URA put two past Dummen Orange and easily rolled over Jubilee Insurance by 3-0.   Their last game saw them draw 0-0 with Post Bank.

For Patron Kaduyu, it was a very successful outing, seeing that they went all day without conceding a solitary goal.   Comfortably leading the table on 58 points after 22 games, Kaduyu says that defensive discipline as well as discipline on the pitch is what wins trophies.

It was an end-to-end affair as teams tussled it out in football.

Asked if URA, last season’s runners-up, can dislodge 2024 defending champions Tropical Bank,  Kaduyu, shrugging his shoulders, curtly retorted, “ Why not?”. Uganda Breweries Limited (54 points), Mogo Loans (54 points), and Tropical Bank (53 points) are currently trailing behind URA.

URA was in blistering form and never conceded a goal at the 6th outing.

A tale of the tape shows URA has lost only one game all season, enjoys a healthy goal difference of  24 goals, and has not received any card.  UBL has lost 4 games so far, while Mogo Loans and Tropical Bank have lost two each.

Will URA go all the way? It promises to be an engaging affair when the teams meet again at the former GEMS Cambridge pitch for the August outing.
