Media houses set aside their daily hustles to take part in the Uganda Journalists Association media gala at Kitante Primary School.
The 22 participating teams, which were powered by among others, Corporate Sports Network, played under the theme of advocating for media freedom amid interference from security forces.
It coincided with the occasion to mark the World Press Freedom Day.

By the curtain call, Church of Uganda Media Association (CHOMA) were the overall winners after defeating KBS TV by 3-1 in tje hotly contested finals.
Corporate Sports Network were proud sponsors of the outing, providing equipment and technical advice.

It was intense action as the 22 media houses tussled for top honours
Mr. Charles Ssempagala, the CSN General manager, revealed that besides providing the techical expertise, CSN offered footballs, goal posts, and other related paraphernalia. ” We are glad to provide support as the media are one of our strongest partners,” Ssempagala said.

UJA president Mathias Rukundo was grateful to Corporate Sports Network for the support.
Brig. Gen. Mo ses Shaban Lukyamuzi, the chief guest lauded the initiative and promised to foster closer working relations between the army and the media fraternity. The event was crowned with a medal awarding ceremony. Overall winners won a trophy and a Billy goat.
