It was a banker’s affair at the Corporate Sports Network (CSN) fun games outing held at the Maroons Sports Grounds in Luzira Prison during the 7th outing in 2024.

The outing that had the fun games (the three-legged race and the sack race held in the afternoon) brought deafening cheers from the enthusiastic crowd.

Whereas some observers called it magic, others rightly pointed out that the eventual winners (most of them representing banking institutions) are experienced in the fun games, which feature prominently at the annual Banker’s gala.

There was much cheering during the Fun and Games but the bankers stood tall

A three-legged race is a running event involving pairs of participants running with the left leg of one runner strapped to the right leg of another runner.   The race challenges players to move in unison, which improves their physical coordination and balance.

The sack race involves participants placing both of their legs inside a sack (usually a potato sack) that reaches their waist and hop forward from a starting point toward a finish line. It was a 35-plus event.

In the women’s sack race, the gold medal was won by Dfcu Bank’s Veronica Nassaka, Close on her heels was Blessed Alinda (Case Hospital), and in third place was Sharon Naddunga of Housing Finance Bank.

In the men’s sack race, Tropical Bank clinched gold, silver went to Centenary Bank, and the bronze medal was bagged by Dfcu Bank.

In the mixed, 3-legged race, Centenary Bank won gold, while silver went to Dfcu Bank.
